Both the ReTargeter Tag and retargeting pixels involve writing lines of code that allow you to track and retarget to audiences. The main difference is that the retargeting pixel requires different codes to tag users, burn users, and mark conversions whereas the ReTargeter Tag does all these things with one code. Because the retargeting pixels use multiple different codes, the page codes need to be manually updated whenever you'd like to update the behavior of your campaign. On the other hand, because the ReTargeter Tag is a single code that can perform multiple actions, it can be placed on your page then managed entirely through the dashboard. We highly recommend using ReTargeter Tag over retargeting pixels as they are simpler to implement and easier to manage.
